Every year John Gerits and Piet Besselink gather a choir of 90 people for 2 presentations in the “Asta Cultural Centre" in Beek, the Netherlands. The profits of the concert went this year to Casa do Caminho. The event took place 20 and 21 November 2009.
It was a great success with 2 nights a theatre hall full with spectators. Besides the choir various dance and music groups where present including percussion band “Passa Tempo”, Floor and her dance group, Opera singer Christoph Plessers, Marimba players Maikel and Roy and the Saxophone player Christian with only 14 years old. All are famous talented musicians from the region. Besides the money raised through the event the Percussion band “Passa Tempo” offered a cheque 550 Euros. In January the Canto Team will announce the official amount raised for Casa do Caminho. Casa do Caminho likes to thank John Gerits and Piet Besselink and all the people who participated in the event. |
