Mister Ebenhard

Mister Eberhard is a civil engineer pensioner who collects donations of the citizens of Heppenheim for the children and teenagers of “Casa do Caminho”. Mister Eberhard delivered the first donation in January 1997. The City of Heppenheim has been most important sponsor for Casa do Caminho the last 10 years.  Thanks to these funds, Casa do Caminho has been able to grow from a small family with 8 children to a centre with 3 houses and close to 40 children.

City of Heppenheim

Heppenheim is a city in Germany with 25.000 inhabitants, situated approximately 50 km to the south of Frankfurt and 30 km to the north of Heidelberg. The “montana strata”, denomination given for the old Romans to the wine of the street Bergstrasse, is cultivated in the south part of the Hängen mount, close to Heppenheim. This 1250 years old city possesses a wooden a medieval historical centre with colourful houses with a famous square as the central point, which is one of most beautiful in Germany.

Mr. Ebenhard’s Work

Mister Eberhard does a number of activities to raise funds. The main activity is to play his “turn organ” during cultural events such as Christmas, Eastern and is often invited to family events, parties, jubilees and other events. Further, Mister Eberhard has a number of people who make regular donations. Hans visits these people in person to thank them and inform them about the latest news from Casa do Caminho. A few times a year mister Eberhard reaches the local newspaper making him a known person in Town. A number of bars and shops have “pot” where people throw in their change. 4 times a year mister Eberhard spreads a newsletter from Casa do Caminho to all the sponsors. Hans spends approximately 30-40 hours a week to raise funds for Casa do Caminho, underling his enormous dedication. His wife, children and grant children, support all his activities.

Casa Heppenheim in Xerem

2 years ago Casa do Caminho started building a 3^rd centre for the teenage boys. It was decided to call the house” Casa Heppenheim” to underline the importance of the city’s support.  A few weeks ago Mr Eberhard and his family where present to celebrate the opening of the new house and the 10 years of friendship between Heppenheim and Casa do Caminho.

Donations

All the money, without the loss of a cent is deposited on the Casa do Caminho account in Brazil. The Eberhard family pays for their own flight tickets when visiting Casa do Caminho.
