KIDS Worldwide South America

NCDO stands for National Commission for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development. Our partner Foundation Avante Educação Brasil (AEB) from the Netherlands, applied for € 22.849,00 for the sport and community project. The project has the objective to build a sport & community centre and to ensure its usage for sport, social, educational and cultural events. This project is not only for our children and teenagers but also for the local impoverished community. The grant application was accepted last week but we only receive the money when we conform to their demands. NCDO demands from AEB to raise € 24.011,00 in the Netherlands and create awareness under the Dutch population about the situation in Xerem and Casa do Caminho.

With a team of Tom, Annemarie, Jascha, Andrea, Fabio and me Bart we are busy achieving this goal by doing presentations for service clubs and workshops with schools. We raised close to € 10.000 and expect to raise close to € 15.000 by the end of February 2007. Our total goal is € 58.994,00, which means we still lack close to € 20.000 to be able to start the project. You can read everything about the sport and community project here.
