Adopt a child at Casa Do Caminho Proceedings for Adoption within Brazil The applicants should appear before the Judge of childhood and adolescence with the appropriate documentation, which will be sent to the technical center for a social and psychological evaluation. The decision is made by the Public Ministry and the Judge of childhood and adolescence of our town Duque de Caxias; In case the adoption is accepted a certificate of adoption will be made. The details of the candidate parents will than be registered and will wait for the actual Green light for adoption.

Proceedings for Intercountry Adoption The applicants should first apply for an intercountry adoption with the Central Authority within their State. Detailed information can be found within the Hague Conference on Private International Law in regards to intercountry adoption: If the Central Authority of the receiving State is satisfied that the applicants are eligible and suited to adopt, it shall prepare a report including information about their identity, eligibility and suitability to adopt, background, family and medical history, social environment, reasons for adoption, ability to undertake an intercountry adoption, as well as the characteristics of the children for whom they would be qualified to care. All documents in a foreign language should arrive properly authenticated by the consular authority, having observed the treaties and international conventions around intercountry adoption, and should be accompanied by official translations provided by a certified legal translator. Addressing requests from residents of the United States, all documentation should be submitted to the Department of Immigration. The Department of Immigration can grant permission for adoption, in conjunction with the Child Citizenship Act of 2000. Including photos is recommended.
