Miguel comes from Portugal and is one of the volunteers now residing in Casa do Caminho. Having graduated in Genetics and Molecular Biology in July, he decided to take a year out to travel and to help others through volunteering.
He found Casa do Caminho's website and immediately after his application was accepted he started helping out, translating several of the contents on the website and other documents of equal importance to the volunteer program.
Now, being at Casa do Caminho, Miguel is the medical coordinator, being help responsible for the children's health. He is also coordinating the Sexual Education project and helping in the school reinforcement program for the children at Casa do Caminho.
Having left all in Portugal behind him to travel and to help, Miguel decided to write about his experience. Hence, he now writes to his own personal web site and to an important weekly newspaper in Portugal. These chronicles consist of text, images and video.
Follow Miguel's experience at Casa do Caminho and throughout the American continent on his website - "A Caminho " (On the Way). |
